AZ & DZ Driver

Job Summary

Our Drivers use company trucks or trailers to pick up produce orders at our Distribution Center in South Etobicoke. After picking up, Drivers are responsible for the safe and timely delivery of produce to our valued customers around the GTA and Ontario and on occasion cross border. Upon delivery, Drivers unload the product as well as act as representatives when interacting with our customers. This position reports into our Transportation Supervisor. Your schedule will be mostly days, however, flexibility is required. Anticipated shifts will begin in the early mornings and finish in the late afternoons – a typical work week would consist of 40-50 hours, but this is subject to change based on the needs of the business

Essential Duties:

• Safe and timely delivery of produce to customers around the GTA, Ontario and the U.S.

• Safe handling of the equipment (Manual Trucks, Tractor & Trailer)

• Experience with refrigerated products as an asset

• Reporting any food safety or quality issues to supervisors by our Food Safety policies

• Diligently complete paperwork, including Driver’s logbook and bills of lading, ELD.

Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.

• Ability to reach above shoulder level.

• Able to come in contact with food allergens.

• Must be able to work within a hot/cold environment for extended periods

• Must wear CSA approved Safety Shoes at all times

• Work schedules vary we operate 7 days a week flexibility required

• Reefer equipment experience an asset

• Excellent communicational skills including the ability to speak, write and read in English

• Documentation Knowledge: Driver Logbook, Inspection Report

• Good Customer Service Skills

• Drivers are required to complete a Drive Test

• Clean drivers abstract

• Must have a valid DZ and/or AZ driver’s license (Driver’s License Class A, Air Brake ( Z ) Endorsement)

• Must be able to drive manual trucks

• Operating tractor trailer equipped with automatic and manual transmission safely by adhering to all safety requirements (MTO & DOT)

• Must conduct a pre and post trip daily

• Valid passport and/or FAST card and clear criminal background check for Border Crossing

• Some operational areas will require Material Handling Equipment certification.

• Other duties as assigned.
